Sept, 11 2006 (Oakland, CA) – Numi Organic Tea announces line extension for the first time in 2 years - to be introduced at the upcoming Natural Products Expo East (Baltimore Oct 4-7) just in time for Fair Trade Month. Known for their authentic premium tea blends, Numi’s founders are thrilled to be adding new flavors to Numi’s Organic & Fair Trade Certified™ line of teas & teasans.

Ahmed Rahim, co-founder and alchemist behind Numi, says that Numi sets themselves apart from other tea companies by only using real ingredients in full-leaf tea blends without oils or essences that are common in the market.

“All 5 are certified organic and four of them are certified Fair Trade. What they all share in common is the use of real ingredients; real vanilla bean, rose petals, Osmanthus flower, ginger, lemongrass and the highest quality loose teas. The flavors are subtle with just the right hints of the secondary flavor after the tea. Hints of vanilla bean with rich De-Caf black tea. Hints of sweet Osmanthus or floral rose buds with White Tea. This is also the first time in Numi history that they have offered decaffeinated teas. After searching for a non-toxic process that still maintained antioxidant levels and the flavor quality, Numi is excited to have full leaf teas that have been decaffeinated using a Super Critical CO2 extraction process. Carbon Dioxide is used as a highly pressurized gas that extracts the caffeine from the tea leaves without leaving any chemical residues or reduction in flavor. There is currently no other company in the U.S. offering full leaf-grade CO2 decaffeinated organic tea.
