Fair Trade Display Winners

In celebration of Fair Trade Month this October, retailers nationwide vied for a chance to experience firsthand the impact of Fair Trade at the community level, demonstrating their most creative and informative displays of Fair Trade Certified (FTC) products in the 1 st annual Fair Trade Display Challenge.  

Retailers of all sizes participated, providing new examples and insight into the most effective methods of increasing consumer awareness and sales of FTC products. We continue to find that effective marketing and merchandising of Fair Trade Certified through promotions, events, cross-product displays, etc. translates directly into a lift in sales of FTC products.   Through creatively conveying the Fair Trade story with brochures, pictures and other POP materials provided free of charge by TransFair USA, stores are able to educate customers on the guarantee behind the FTC label and empower them to feel confident in the impact of their purchases.   In addition, cross-product displays awaken consumers to the growing variety of Fair Trade Certified items available and increase label awareness.

Winning displays were chosen by an independent panel on the basis of creative content, customer attraction, multitude of FTC products, and effective communication of the Fair Trade message. The winners will be joining representatives from TransFair USA in an all-expenses paid trip to Costa Rica where they will be visiting Fair Trade farms to see firsthand the impact of Fair Trade in the farming communities.  

Retailers both large and small play a critical role in helping to grow the market for FTC products. Through our joint efforts, over 1.1 million farming families are achieving a better quality of life through Fair Trade.
