Category Management Intern, Coffee & Hot Beverages

Supervisor Category Manager, Coffee & Hot Beverages
Schedule Monday-Friday at your convenience; at least 16 hours a week
Salary Unpaid

Overview of Position: The mission of Category Management - Coffee & Hot Beverages, is to develop strategies for Fair Trade Certified coffee and tea in order to deliver impact to producers, the market, and consumers.  The department of Category Management is responsible for the overall long-term success of each category. Working with the Category Manager, the intern will be responsible for researching, gathering information from Fair Trade stakeholders and the industry, and disseminating information to key stakeholders.

Specific duties include:

  • Research information on industry, producers, and market dynamics of specific segments within the coffee and tea markets
  • Assist in preparation of presentations to be delivered to different Fair Trade stakeholders
  • Support analysis of impact information from coffee and tea producers
  • Support creation of supply chain database and industry communications
  • Provide support and assistance as needed to the Category Manager

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Business background is preferable. Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
  • Detail-oriented personality and multi-tasking capabilities are essential.
  • Must be proficient using the applications of Microsoft Office, especially Power Point and Excel.

Schedule: 16 or more hours/week for a minimum of 10 weeks.

Compensation: Internships are unpaid, however, a montly stipend is available to cover local travel expenses.
