Development / Fundraising Internship

Overview of Position: This is an excellent opportunity for those wishing to develop skills in non-profit fundraising - a much sought after and useful skill for social change activists. Team members also benefit from collaboration with other TransFair departments including Consumer Education and Certification.

Interns will be involved in:
Writing grant applications and reports
Researching potential funding sources
Coordinating special events and mailings
Maintaining foundation and donor records
Assisting with building strategic partnerships
Developing support materials for grants

Qualifications:

College/university degree or active enrollment, or equivalent experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Strong interest in writing and fundraising for nonprofit organizations. Commitment to social justice and the role of Fair Trade in international development. Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet. Spanish skills are a plus, but not required.

Schedule: 20 or more hours/week for a minimum of 10 weeks.

Compensation: Internships are unpaid, however, a monthly stipend is available to cover local travel expenses.
