Executive Office Internship

Supervisor Paola Castellanos, Executive Assistant to the CEO
Schedule 15-20 hours/week for a minimum of 10 weeks.
Salary Unpaid. Stipend for transportation provided.

Overview of Internship:
This internship is for those with a strong interest in organizational development, administration, and the day-to-day operations of a busy Executive Office.  Interns in the Executive Office will assist in our ongoing efforts to keep our organization ahead of the curve in terms of office administration, scheduling and travel itineraries, as well as everyday correspondence and details.

Responsibilities may include any or all of the following:
Travel

  • Coordinate itineraries for CEO travel plans as needed
  • Print and collate event information and material

Board support

  • Send updates to Board Members and Advisory Council members
  • Assist Board Members and Advisory Council Members with upcoming meeting needs

Contact database system

  • Update and maintain contact database to suit the needs of the CEO Office

Information Management

  • Catalog library resources in an e-database
  • Write weekly updates on new industry information for the CEO

Filing

  • Create and help maintain new filing system to address the needs of the CEO Office
  • Assess to which departments old Executive Office files should be distributed

Requirements:
Education: At least one year of College/University studies
Skills: Excellent analytical skills, comfort with numbers, good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Language: Spanish language proficiency is a plus. Other foreign language ability is a plus.
Social Justice: Interest in Fair Trade and International development
Technology: Functional knowledge of the Internet and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
