Internships are unpaid, however, a monthly stipend is available to cover local travel expenses. |
Overview of Position: The mission of GPS is to strengthen producer organizations in order for them to increase their benefits from Fair Trade. Working with the Project Manager and/or Associate of Global Producer Services (GPS), and fellow interns, the intern will be responsible for building the communicating with Fair Trade producer organizations, gathering, organizing and recording relevant data and information.
Specific duties include:
- Assist in collecting, processing and translating impact questionnaires and data provided by producer groups in Africa
- Support GPS staff in the production of industry impact reports, cooperative profiles and marketing materials about producers
- Support the creation of situation analysis documents for current and potential GPS projects
- Conduct research for creating country profiles
- Translate French/English documents
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fluency in written and oral communication skills in English and French is required
- Must be proficient using the applications of Microsoft Office. Experience in Microsoft Outlook is a plus
- Detail-oriented personality and multi-tasking capabilities are essential
