Producer Certification Fees

As of early 2004, FLO began charging an initial inspection fee for producer certification that is based on the organization's total number of farm workers or co-op members. For yearly renewal, there is a flat fee and a small volume-based fee. See the charts below for detailed fee information.

Yearly Renewal Fee Structure

The yearly renewal fee for producer groups is a combination of a basic fee and an annual volume fee.

1. Basic Fee
Each certified producer group pays a fee of 500 Euro per calendar year.

2. Volume Fee
Certified producers also pay a yearly fee based on the volume sold under Fair Trade conditions in the previous calendar year. The fee depends on the value of the product.
