Fair Trade Flowers Importers
Sourcing Fair Trade Certified Flowers
If you would like to import Fair Trade Certified flowers directly, you will need to become a licensed Fair Trade importer. Licensed importers gain direct access to our worldwide network of growers and are regularly promoted to retailers and wholesalers as authorized sources of Fair Trade Certified flowers.
- Importers report Fair Trade purchases and sales to TransFair USA on a quarterly basis.
- Importers must transfer the Fair Trade premium directly to the bank account of the farm's worker organization quarterly.
- Importers sign year-long contracts with growers which specify stable and fair pricing, quality claim procedures, special holiday pricing and other information listed in our Trade Standards (Appendix 1 of your license agreement).
- TransFair USA charges importers a license fee of $.012 to $.015 per stem on all Fair Trade Certified flower purchases, depending on the volume purchased in a year.
- Please contact us directly for a letter of intent template and license agreement at flowers@transfairusa.org or 510-663-5260.
