Sign TransFair USA’s Fair Trade Coffee License
Agreement to license you to display TransFair USA’s Fair Trade
Certified
label on your Fair Trade products and materials. |

Purchase Fair Trade Certified coffee from importers licensed by TransFair USA. |
 |
Submit quarterly reports to TransFair of Fair Trade Certified green coffee purchases and roasted sales. |
 |
Pay a certification fee to TransFair USA of ten cents per pound on Fair Trade Certified green purchases. |

Coffee importers
Core requirements for licensed coffee importers:

Sign TransFair USA's License/Certification agreement to allow you to become an authorized importer, selling Fair Trade Certified green coffee to roasters. |
 |
Purchase green coffee from producer organizations certified by TransFair's umbrella organization, Fairtrade Labeling Organizations International (FLO). |
 |
Pay the international Fair Trade price to
coffee cooperatives (US$1.26 per pound for conventionally grown
coffee; US$1.41 for certified organically grown coffee). |
 |
Submit reports on a monthly basis detailing all Fair Trade purchases and sales. Include supporting documentation (contracts, bills of lading, and invoices) for all Fair Trade purchases made directly from producer groups. |
 |
On request of the producer organization, make available up to 60% of the value of the contract in prefinancing or other credit facilities.

To support this commitment, TransFair has adopted an initial
volume guideline for new roasters interested in offering Fair
Trade Certified coffees.
