Join the national movement for Fair Trade this October 1st in kicking off Fair Trade Month with a commuter coffee giveaway in your town.

Sharing a free cup of Fair Trade Certified coffee or tea with commuters on the morning rush is an easy and effective way to reach out to new supporters and make the connection between our daily cup and the lives of farmers around the world. It's also a great way to launch a city-wide campaign for Fair Trade or start up a new group at your church or school.

This year, in addition to all of the many and diverse events taking place around the country for Fair Trade Month, we hope that you will join us in reaching out to commuters in your town to show how Fair Trade is changing the world one cup at a time.

Why a Commuter Coffee Giveaway?

Sharing a cup of coffee with hundreds of commuters on the morning rush has the potential to transform not just the lives of farmers but the everyday rituals of hundreds of people in your community.

A Commuter Coffee Giveaway can help:

• Raise awareness about the benefits of Fair Trade and build demand for Fair Trade Certified products in your community.
• Build relationships between consumers, retailers and coffee roasters in your area. Share samples from a local Fair Trade retailer or roaster or create and distribute a where to buy list for your town.
• Bolster your efforts to reach out to new supporters or build towards future events later in the month. Promote your next meeting, film screening or event. Draw attention to new or future Fair Trade campaigns.
• Increase the visibility of the Fair Trade movement nationwide. With this action we hope to speak with one voice about our commitment to Fair Trade and highlight the massive grassroots support for Fair Trade around the country.
